The jersey reveal party brought out a nice group excited to wear their new jerseys! NEER jerseys are available to all members. NEER has ~200 members! It’s a really great way to meet others of similar cycling interests and enjoy cycling with the company of good people. In addition, NEER leadership has many years and a depth of knowledge about bike design, bike fit, all aspects of endurance cycling, bikepacking, winter ultra cycling and much more.
Membership in NEER brings you hundreds of dollars of value. If you love great bike rides, the value you’ll receive from your membership is easily in the thousands of dollars annually. Membership allows you access to experts in the bike world ranging from frame builders to professional cyclists, and you can easily connect with people who enjoy the kind of riding you do.
Every bike ride we host is carefully organized. Safety is our top priority. We make sure every rider knows what to expect from the day, the route, proper bike and equipment to bring, and we make sure everyone feels comfortable from saying “hello” in the parking lot to the very end of each ride.
Membership begins at $30 for the year for those who want to support what we’re doing, believe in what we’re doing in the cycling community, want to be kept in the loop on our weekly emails, but don’t expect to ride with NEER due to scheduling or whatever else may keep you from riding.
Membership levels for riders start at $65 for a full year. Even if you only ride with NEER once all year, it’s worth the membership price. Unless we’re hosting a special ride, the first ride does not require membership to NEER so you can check us out and see if you want to join as a rider.
Compare this with a 45-minute cyclocross race: $45. Local event rides: $150-200. Road race: $75. Unbound gravel: $325.
We don’t want finances to get in the way. We will gladly trade volunteering time at rides for membership dollars. Please email us at connect@newenglandexpeditionriders.com for details. We believe community and cycling is for everyone and love how people from all walks come out to our rides. However, offering well organized rides, weekly communication, and special offerings costs thousands of dollars a year in infrastructure and equipment expenses (NEER organizers don’t take a paycheck).
Each category is described below with a minimum of what you get. We add benefits appropriate for each season and as we put together special opportunities. Sometimes we serve hot chocolate at the end of cold rides. Sometimes we have special access to high quality gear and offer it at ridiculously low prices. We do what we can to offer you the very best experience riding.
In 2024, we hosted over 85 rides and events for our riders at various times of day, days of the week, and locations around the Boston area, New Hampshire, Maine, central and western Mass, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
NEER’s insurance company does not allow a rider to become a member for a specific ride. Therefore, your membership needs to be processed at least a day prior to you joining us for a ride.
Want to see what we’re all about? You are welcome to ride with us once ever without a membership at rides where we don’t require membership. Some rides are for members only due to logistics or other reasons. You’ll still need to sign a waiver before riding regardless of your status.

Want to wear NEER apparel? That’s awesome! All NEER members are invited to wear NEER-branded apparel. It’s never a requirement to attend rides, no matter what you wear or what you ride, you’re always welcome!
If you sign up as a Cat 3 member or above, a jersey is included in your membership at no additional charge. If you’re a Supporter or Cat 4, you’re welcome to buy a jersey or vest at any time you please, email us for details. We have a few open order windows throughout the year to concentrate jersey orders for spring and fall arrival.

The web store will start by offering custom New England Expedition Rider special edition water bottles, custom sublimated jerseys, special items offered from Ride Headquarters, the official bike shop of NEER. The store will offer more items in time and as requested by members. Momentos from special rides will also be offered in the store.
